Research 2

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/hoodies-louts-scum-how-media-demonises-teenagers-1643964.html

For 'Research 2' I have typed into Google 'Teenagers in the media' and thi was the first result. This is an artice on the independednt website about how teenagers in the media, which i found to be appropriate as this is what I am studying. I was surprised by the statistics in this article, for example the word 'feral' has been used to describe teenagers 96 times. Other phrases include 'scum', 'yobs', 'sick' 'inhuman' which I believe is slightly harsh as these words are quite extreme, but this is how the media represents teenagers.

Internet Research

For my internet research I have looked at the following website:

http://ezinearticles.com/?Teen-Crime-Statistics&id=4007570

On this websites there are facts about the age of victims of violent crime, and the age of the people who commit the violent crime. I believe this website to be relevant to Promoting of Positive Image of Young People asit mentions the acts and figures about teen crime rates, but also says afterwards that positive teen stoies are never front page news as they wont sell as much.

Research 1

 http://www.armyjobs.mod.uk/Pages/HomePage.aspx

I have chosen to do research on the British Army website as I beleive that if teenagers canjoin the army at 16, and many do, then why does the press only feature stories which make teenagers look bad? Also if teenagers do join then that means they are patriotic and want to fight for their country, so not all teenagers are bad.
